2019 has many big things to come for Sacramento artist Lusaid, who’s recent Sacramento Area Music Award (SAMMIES) nomination has offered some local recognition of his hard work honing his craft and producing quality music. Over a span of 5 mixtapes, an EP (Insomnia EP), and 2018’s “Still Up” album, Lusaid has found his sound and purpose. Lu is focused on creating music that shapes the thoughts and emotions of people who are having trouble navigating through this thing called life. Whether it’s a hard introspective record shedding light on the pitfalls of life, an upbeat club or party record, or a smooth ballad to the ladies, Lusaid is bringing positive energy and good vibes to all he can.
Born and raised in South Sacramento, Lusaid grew up the oldest of 2 and fell in love with music at an early age. His early influences weren’t that of rappers of the time, Lu grew up initially listening to R&B, oldies, and Latin music. As a kid, Lu wanted to actually be a singer, idolizing Usher Lu joined the choir and realized his talents lie in other areas. His love of writing developed along side his love of Rap music. In grade school Lusaid got into writing poetry and listening to artists like Bone Thugs N Harmony, Lil Wayne, 2Pac, E-40, Mac Dre, N.O.R.E, Nelly, Ja Rule, X-Raided, and Twista to name a few. In high school Lu formed a Rap group with fellow Youth Group members remixing popular music on the radio. From there Lu developed into the artist we know and love today.
